Owepowe Skeleton: Overthink | Overjoy

Disclaimer: I’m incredibly grateful to @OwepoweDesign for sending these out for me to check out/review. While I appreciate the opportunity, rest assured that my review is entirely unbiased and based solely on my personal experience with the product.

Pad Design: The pad rocks a fun, American comics-style drawing of a skeleton lounging on a green toilet, glued to its phone with a cool blue glow. Bold, scribbled text jumps out: “LOVE AND POWER,” and a little black circle with “HAPPY HOLIDAY” for a quirky kick. An orange bubble yells “2000 MINUTES LATER,” and “HANG ON OVERTHINK” scrawls big and messy at the bottom. Bright whites, greens, oranges, and blues make the whole thing pop with wild energy.

SIZE: The Owepowe mousepad is available in one size—490x420x4mm—which is a classic, tried-and-true dimension that's been popular in the hobby for years. As of now, there’s no word from the brand on releasing a 500x500x4mm version.

STITCHING/BASE: The stitching on the OwePowe mousepad is well-done (note* it is not the same as LGG/Artisan level). Stitching sits just below the surface for a clean and durable finish. In terms of the base, it uses a unique polyurethane foam, which gives it a nice soft feel. While the grip isn’t the strongest out there, a quick dampening of your desk helps keep it in place. Overall, it offers a stable and comfortable experience, perfect for extended use.

PACKAGING: The OwePowe mousepad comes in a simple cardboard box with the brand’s name on the front and a pull-tab for easy opening. Inside, there’s a nice sleeve with velcro dots that let you open and close it, which is a thoughtful touch. It’s great for keeping the mousepad safe if you want to store or transport it. The mousepad itself is wrapped in a plastic sleeve inside for extra protection. I really appreciate what OwePowe has done with their packaging. Their packaging truly does stand out within a stack of boxes.

PERFORMANCE/SURFACE: The Owepowe mousepad boasts a unique, soft texture made from a blend of Nylon and Spandex, complemented by a plush PU base. While it’s marketed as balanced for both speed and control, I found it to favor speed, offering a smooth, fast glide with low friction. There are other mousepads I’ve used that’s slightly faster, but the Owepowe still strikes a great balance of control and speed.

After the testing phase and with consistent use, the performance hasn’t changed, and the design remains sharp without affecting the surface. The texture feels the same as day 1 against the skin. Overall, it leans more toward speed while still providing a smooth, enjoyable experience.

TL;DR:

The Owepowe mousepad, priced at $37.99 (tax included), offers great value with solid performance and durability. It features a classic 490x420mm size with a soft, comfortable polyurethane foam base. The stitching is well-done, sitting just below the surface for a clean finish, and while the base isn't the grippiest, a quick dampening of your desk keeps it stable. The packaging is standout, with a branded box and velcro for easy storage or transport. The surface, made of Nylon and Spandex, is soft, fast, and smooth, with low friction, favoring speed over control. After consistent use, the performance remains top-notch, and the design stays sharp. Overall, it offers a premium experience without breaking the bank.
