The Girl: Unleash your creativity with every click where style meets precision.
Pad Design: The design features a striking black-and-white illustration of a girl, drawn with a minimalist yet detailed artistic style.
There’s a signature located in the bottom left corner, though I can’t quite make out what it says.

SIZE: Midori The Girl pad is available in just one size—500x500x4mm—which is my ideal dimensions, so it worked out perfectly. I measured it myself using a tape measure and caliper, and the specs were spot on. This 500x500mm size has become a popular choice among gamers, so it’s great to see Midori go with such a solid option for their first mousepad release.

LOOKS: The Girl mousepad features a beautiful hand-drawn illustration of a girl in a bold black and white color scheme. I really admire the artist's work—it adds a unique flair to my setup. When I first got the mousepad, I loved how well it blended in, thanks to its neutral tones. Additionally, the artist's signature can be found in the bottom left corner, and the incredible detail in the artwork makes it a standout piece in my collection.
PRICE: The price of Midori “The Girl” mousepad comes in at $56.99 USD (tax included) not shipping - from Midori's website. As for my Canadian people, it is $100.00 CAD exactly shipped with Potent Gaming standard shipping. The pricing of the mousepad is within the mid-range for premium mousepad. It is reasonably priced to compete with other brands pro/high end tier. This pad is no slouch when it comes to price to quality. You get a great quality mousepad, great customer service from the brand, and it comes flat shipped in a custom box (with art as well).
Potent gaming would be the best place for Canadians to purchase their mousepad from if you are planning on getting on of these pads as it is less and won’t have to deal with tax/customs fees.

STITCHING/BASE: The stitching on “The Girl” mousepad is tightly woven and of excellent quality. It is sub-surface and after weeks of use, I can confidently say I’ve encountered no issues with fraying, loose threads, or inconsistencies in the weave. For Midori’s first mousepad, they’ve really nailed the stitching. I tested every corner of the pad, and it held up beautifully—no signs of wear in the areas I swipe most, even after 3+ weeks of 8-hour daily use.
The mousepad features a Star Shine PU base that not only looks great but also adheres well to my desk. Since my desk is wrapped in vinyl, I always make sure to clean the surface before using a new mousepad. I use disinfectant wipes from Walmart, which do the trick and help the pad stick. Plus, the base doesn’t create any electrostatic buildup when I peel it off.
In terms of firmness, this mousepad falls into the Xsoft range, offering a plush, cushioned feel that’s perfect for gamers who like a little extra stopping power and control. Dot users will appreciate the added precision from pressing into the surface. However, while this control is great, it can feel slightly scratchy at times. Overall, the firmness is comparable to an Artisan Xsoft, striking a nice balance between comfort and control.

PACKAGING: The Girl mousepad arrives securely packaged in a flat box adorned with custom artwork. It comes double-boxed for extra protection during shipping, with the outer box being a brown one featuring some Midori branding, and the inner flat box displaying the art design containing the mousepad itself. Midori has clearly put a lot of effort into their packaging and presentation, which I really appreciate. For their first mousepad, they’ve set a solid standard, and I’m excited to see how they’ll build on this in the future. While there are no spec sheet stickers on the packaging, all the information you need is available on their website.
PERFORMANCE/SURFACE:
Lastly, the most important part of the review: Surface and Performance.
The Girl mousepad is labeled to be a control pad, and as their first mousepad - they truly did their research on what makes a great performing mousepad while also having a smooth surface.
This mousepad was sent to me by Midori along with their mouse skates (Vanta Blacks). Most of the testing was done with dots with occasional use of full skates (of full skates sounds weird) (Razer stock skates). During the testing phase – Vanta Shifts and The Girl pad surface provided an amazing, smooth and speedy glide. Another great combo to go along with the pad is UNWS Silver Fox. Although labeled as a “control” pad, The Girl mousepad leans towards the faster end of the spectrum. In my collection, its speed is comparable to the Gamesense Radar Asuka. Despite being a faster control pad, it still offers excellent stopping power when needed, striking an outstanding balance between speed and control. The smooth surface allows for precise micro-adjustments, so I never worried about flicking onto targets or tracking moving enemies. This mousepad performed well in humid conditions; I didn’t notice any slowness on particularly humid days, nor did it develop any slow spots.
I tested this mousepad across a variety of games, including Valorant, Overwatch, Rivals, Deadlock, and some aim training. I found it easy to hit targets and make quick adjustments in fast-paced games. This mousepad truly excels in high-speed scenarios but remains an outstanding choice for any FPS game. I’ve been really impressed by its performance.
I highly recommend this pad to anyone looking for a high-quality option that features stunning art and delivers exceptional performance. It has definitely earned a spot in my rotation.

Stitching/Base: The Girl mousepad features tightly woven stitching that’s held up great after over 3 weeks of daily use—no fraying or loose threads in sight. Its Star Shine PU base sticks well to my desk and doesn’t cause any electrostatic buildup when lifting it off. As for firmness, it's in the Xsoft range, giving it a nice, cushioned feel that adds extra control, especially for gamers who prefer more stopping power. However, pressing into the surface can feel a bit scratchy.
