SIZE: The Kurosun Samurai only comes in one size. 490 x 420mm x 3mm thickness.
LOOKS: The mousepad features a black surface adorned with striking white line art of a samurai. Kurosun's branding is placed in the bottom right corner alongside the 'samurai' and 'balance' labels. The white stitching is clean and precise.

PRICE: Priced at $49.99 USD before tax and shipping, the Kurosun Samurai mousepad falls within the mid-range for premium mousepads. Given its excellent performance, the price is reasonable, and I can easily recommend it to anyone seeking a black-and-white pad with artistic design. At the time of this review's release, the mousepad is mostly sold out at retailers, and the only way to get it now is through the aftermarket.
4/5★★★★☆
STITCHING/BASE: The white stitching around the Samurai creates a striking contrast against the black surface. The stitching is tight and well-executed—after 3+ weeks of testing, I didn’t notice any fraying or loose threads. In fact, I’d say it’s among the best in the market. The stitching also sits slightly below the surface, causing no issues during use.
The dotted alpha-cell base, similar to its predecessor, the Kurosun Ninja, provides a strong grip on the desk. I didn’t experience any 'electrostatic' effect, making it ideal for those who regularly clean their setup and need to easily remove the mousepad. 5/5 ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
PACKAGING: The Kurosun Samurai mousepad arrives securely packaged in a flat box. Inside, there’s an additional flat box with the samurai logo, containing the mousepad. In fact, it's triple-boxed for delivery: the store's brown shipping box, followed by two Kurosun-branded flat boxes. The mousepad itself is wrapped, with a plastic protector covering the base to ensure safe shipment.

PERFORMANCE/SURFACE: Finally, we’ve arrived at the most important part of the review: the surface and performance. The Samurai offers more control than its predecessor, the Kurosun Ninja, which leaned more towards speed. In terms of speed, I’d compare this mousepad to the Artisan Zero Soft. However, the Samurai stands out with its unique balance of control and stopping power, while still offering the speed needed for quick movements. It’s definitely not a slow-slow pad.
While testing in Valorant, Spectre Divide, and Counter Strike 2, I could flick and adjust to my targets smoothly while also having the control to stop precisely when needed. I didn’t use any arm sleeves during testing and found the surface to be soft and comfortable, with no skin discomfort throughout the sessions.
